New recruits welcome
We welcome boys and girls aged between 5¾ and 18. If you are interested please contact the section leaders of the section you are interested in or alternatively send a message to our group email 1r.scouts@gmail.com.
Like all scout groups we are divided into sections by age group.
Adult volunteers needed
Our Scout group is run entirely by unpaid volunteers and we are always very grateful of offers of help. There are a number of possible roles, ranging from occasional helper through to fully trained Leaders. All adults are subject to full Enhanced DBS checks.
We guarantee you will have a great time - that's why we do it. You will get a great energy boost from working with our young people
Our Sections
Just looking?
We encourage young people to try us out for a few weeks before they choose to become a member of Scouting. For many this a very quick decision ("...of course I want to come again, mum...") but for others it can take a few weeks to settle in and become comfortable in our environment. We don't expect any fees to be paid or uniform purchased until a young person is sure they want they want to be part of Scouting.
Uniform
Scouting is a uniformed organisation; members are asked to wear the appropriate uniform for their section. This will comprise of a shirt or sweatshirt and a scarf. These are available at the Plymouth Scout Shop at Blindman's Wood.
Fees
Members are asked to pay a fee to cover expenses and insurance. The fee is £45 per school term. If this payment could cause you difficulties we would be sympathetic and happy to discuss this.
